Aleksandr Andreev

Aleksandr AndreevAleksandr Andreev teaches Liturgics for Choir Directors at SSLM. He studied at Duke University (B.S.), the University of North Carolina (M.S.), the Pastoral School of the Diocese of Chicago (Diploma in Pastoral Theology), and the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, where he received a Doctor of Divinity degree for his dissertation “The Reform of the Hirmologion in the 17th Century”. During the academic year he teaches History of Russian Worship, Paleography and Church Slavonic at St. Petersburg Theological Academy. In the summer, in addition to SSLM, he also teaches Liturgics at the Pastoral School of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America (ROCOR). His research interests are in historical liturgics, Slavonic paleography and Znamenny chant.
